After your check up with Traditional Chinese Medicine's clinic of Dr. Tan Ci Shou, Dr. James Tan, Dr. John Tan (Ongpin/ Binondo Manila), you will then buy your tea from Ching Tay Chinese Drug Store. This is not the drug stores in front of the clinic. This is located in a different street.
This is just a 2-minute walk from the clinic. The address is 596 T. Alonzo Street. Sta. Cruz, Metro Manila. Phone number 8-733-6467.
Steps:
1. As soon as you arrive in Ching Tay Chinese Drug Store, go to the window at the right side and hand your prescription to the staff. If you have other requests, like you need to buy more tea packs, you need inform them at this stage. I usually write it down beside my name and I also tell the staff verbally. Example, the prescription given is only for 5 packs only. I tell them that I need 10 packs. This is during the time that I anticipate that I cannot go back there after a week.
Tip: a lot of people are in front of the drugstore and it is very crowded. You have to tell them that you will just give your prescription to the staff. Most of these people are waiting for their orders.
2. If it is your first time buying, you need a clay pot or glass cookware or ceramic pot to boil the tea. If you have palayok or pyrex, you can use those. If not, Ching Tay also sells ceramic pots. The Chinese drug stores in front of the clinic also sells the same.
3. Ask for instructions on how to take the tea or the tablets.
4. Based from our recent experience, getting your order will take a long time. Like maybe more than an hour because of the influx of people coming down from the clinic. After you hand your prescription, you may want to eat first or go to church or go to a mall (Lucky Chinatown). You can come back after 2 hours. Ching Tay is open as long as there are still patients in the clinic.
5. When you are back, ask the staff if your order is already available. You can tell them the time you handed them your prescription. I was told several times that my order is still not available but I check the plastic bags on the floor and I see my name. I just tell the staff that my order is already on the floor.
6. Check your orders before going home. Count the tea packs to make sure you are getting the correct number.
7. There is a BPI ATM a few establishments from Ching Tay. If you need more money for your order, you can just withdraw from BPI. There are also other ATMs in the vicinity.
